Please explain the three efficiency factors – outcomes, expenditures, and conditions, and how each applies to the school district where you live or work.
In the Education Production Function, a “more efficient” model gets more output for the same input or the same output for less input. Essentially, we are getting “more bang for the buck” where choices can be made between different ways to spend money/expend resources. There are two perspectives on efficiency – 1) cost efficiency is “How little buck to get the bang we want?” and 2) production efficiency is “How much bang for the buck?”. The readings will look at which one of these perspectives is the most efficient.
