Workplace Portfolio Planning Document
The last unit of the course asks you to find a CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT job posting for which you are currently qualified (so
no making up credentials or pretending you have advanced degrees that you haven’t YET
earned) and craft a cover letter and resume for that position. The purpose of this planning
document is to get you thinking about your focus and narrowing in on what job ad you will use.
As such, please answer the following questions.
1. What type of job are you interested in? Nursing home, Hospital, Clinic, Note that you don’t have to stay local in this
search, so the sky is the limit.
2. Give three job posting links that you think you might be interested in. Which one are you
most interested in and why?
3. What are three elements that you want to emphasize in your resume for the specific job
posting you have selected in the previous question.
4. Considering the job posting that you have selected (question 2) and the three elements
that you want to emphasize in your resume (question 3), what are three more elements
that you want to explain or elaborate on in your cover letter?
