Living in the desert, I am very much aware that plants need water to survive. The question for you to consider is; why do plants need so much water and how do plants “pump” water from their roots to leaves that can be hundreds of feet high? Think about the plant you identified as being significant in your life. How much water does it need daily? How does it absorb water from the soil? How does that water travel from its roots to its leaves? What adaptations, if any, does it have to conserve its water or grow where little water is available? If you want to talk about a different plant than that first one, choose one, again be unique, and explain your new choice.
