Introduction to Module 14/15 PSA Project Assignment:
Public Service Announcements (PSA’s) are commonly used to dispurse important public health information to the general public. These can be on a range of health issues, such as:
Safety precautions (ie. car seat use for infants)
Infectious diseases (ie. COVID-19 or the flu)
Substance Abuse Prevention
Vaccinations
….. and so many more topics
Your tasks:
You will first choose a PSA video from the link below. In an essay that is between 3-5 pages double spaced, 1″ margins, 11 point font (style either Arial or Times New Roman), you will discuss the pros and cons of that video. What works? What could be improved? Who is the intended audience for that video, and is the video helpful to that intended audience? What would you change or add about it, if anything? How was the length of the video, and would that work for the intended audience?
Include 2 evidence-based sources to support your arguments about the effectiveness of the PSA video/the importance of PSA’s in public health. Make sure to study the history and background of the topic and discuss all the aspects shown. What is your argument? Support it.
