Imagine yourself as an NP whose philosophy and practice are influenced by your assigned theory. You work in a family practice clinic. Using your theory and applying it to your nursing care, arrange the assessment data in the appropriate categories in the Tables provided (Comfort Theory OR Unpleasant Symptoms). Then respond to these prompts in the Discussion: What is the value of your theory and the patient’s situation? Explain how using the theory can help you provide and guide care for the patient. You do not need to address everything in the case, of course, focus on the purpose of the theory – to help the patient in distress. Really imagine yourself with the patient in the exam room.
