Importance – Critical Thinking: Parenting practices are based in one’s culture, the family of origin, and policies and practices within each culture vary widely. Understanding other culture’s approaches to parenting can be beneficial to understanding parenting practices in the U.S.
Expectation: Choose a country outside of the U.S. and analyze their parenting practices and policies. Compare their laws regarding parents and families to those in the U.S. and discuss what would be considered a typical approach to parenting in this country. You can examine laws related to family planning and/or parental leave practices, typical discipline practices for this country/culture, information about schooling, transitioning to adulthood, etc. All information about the country should be from documented sources, which you will reference in APA format. Your paper should be no longer than 5 pages.
