Final Project: Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling Families face many challenges in today’s world and marriage, couple, and family counselors (MCF) are the professionals who help families navigate difficult times. Families are a working system and each element of that system impact the operation of the system and the individual members. Issues such as substance abuse, family violence, divorce, mental illness, infidelity, and child abuse present counselors with numerous treatment challenges. As an MCF counselor, will you be ready to address them? Use the headings below to guide you. Remember APA format includes a cover page, headings, font, and spacing issues. Be sure to cite references from scholarly sources throughout and include them in your references section. Some examples of professional literature include, but are not limited to: Journal of Family Therapy, Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, The Family Journal, Journal of Marriage and Family Counseling, Journal of Contemporary Family Therapy, Journal of Counseling and Development. Your project should include all of the following sections: Identify the movie you chose and a brief description of the selected couple/family Presenting issues facing the couple/family Identify any family life cycle considerations Multicultural, legal, or ethical considerations regarding the couple’s circumstances Theoretical counseling model you would use as this couple/family’s therapist with rationale Assessments & Interventions you would use with this couple/family with rationale Prognosis for the family (Good, Fair, Poor) and how you arrived at this conclusion Reference Page (minimum of 5 references) Although the Final Project is not due until Day 5 of Week 15, you may submit your assignment at any time. The Final Project will be evaluated according to the final project rubric. Be sure that the Final Project is written using APA format.
