How would you characterize Polk’s piece? Perhaps more than any other that we’ve read thus far, his essay is based on personal anecdote. Is this an effective strategy, and are his suggested solutions in the conclusion sufficient, realistic, and effective?
Critique Waldman’s article. This piece uses humor, and it was originally published in Slate. Does her use of tone and style enhance the article? Is humor something you find rhetorically persuasive, and will you use it in your research argument for ENC 1102?
Bazelon’s argument is a bit contrarian, in the sense that it goes against much of what we are told to value in American parenting and familial values. Comment on the efficacy of her argument. Many readers reacted passionately to Bazelon’s article upon publication. Does it surprise you to see an author equating her love of her work for her love of her family?

in my future i see myself on land with family and friends welcome to stay or visit, having my own garden/little farm and living sustainably and off the land. taking classes to help me achieve the knowledge to do it myself and the ability to make money for other needs not provided by land
