Choose a peer-reviewed, academic journal article, in which some empirical research
has been undertaken, (i.e. not a commentary or a “thought piece”), and produce a
critical review in 2000 words +/- 10%.
The marking plan follows along with some guidance notes.
Remarks of tutor:
1. This is a review to demonstrate my understanding on the research method. Therefore, the requriement is slightly different with writing an essay.
2. Abstract and reference are not required. It is not required to justify the correctness of the facts mentioned in the journal article. The key is to show my ability to justify the quality of a journal. It is more about judging the journal article. Therefore, not all contents in my work need supporting
Although it would not be a bad idea to provide the reference if quoting something is neccessary.
3. The article is chosen by me. The article has to be peer-reviewed, business related. If you think the article selected could not fulfil the guidelines, please raise out and we could discuss.
4. Obviously my English is not good. Editing is a must. If you think my point is valid, you may keep it. Keeping some points may help me to discuss with tutor. Thats why I have created my own version first. (Not good, but at least I tried…) Of course, if my point is not good enough, ridiculous, stupid or idiotic, feel free to remove it. Just want to get good grade ^^
5. Template, example and guidelines are provided. Template is prepared by tutor which is less important than the guidelines as guidelines are prepared by programme leader.
6. The example is for reference. Not a grade A work but it has comment from the markers so it may be a hint.
