Be sure to read all of your chapters for this week. This assignment focuses on topics in chapter 8 regarding memory. Then, read these 2 articles that are also available in your week 4 module:

In 2018, Brett Kavanaugh was nominated by President Donald Trump to fill a position in the Supreme Court of the United States of America. At around this same time, Palo Alto University Professor of Psychology Christine Blasey Ford went public with allegations that Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her in the early 1980s while the two of them were in high school. This revelation resulted in a media & political frenzy as Dr. Ford recounted her traumatic flashbulb memories from over 30 years ago.
After reading the articles and relevant textbook chapters (you are encouraged to use other sources and include them as part of your APA documentation), incorporate what you have learned about memory to answer and discuss the following questions/statements. Keep in mind that this assignment is about MEMORY and NOT about political viewpoints. So, focus on the topic of memory.
Briefly summarize what happened.
Using your textbook readings and articles from this week, explain what primary things (terms, concepts) should we keep in mind when we are assessing traumatic memories and/or memories from many years ago?
What other pertinent issues should we consider in this situation if we were asked to decide whether Kavanaugh should be allowed to be a Supreme Court Judge?
