This is my 4th week at my clinical experience in public health at mend in Pacoima. I don’t like coming to this area and i feel unsafe. i already know what to expect the 4th week and i get to work. 4th week i went on a saturday and it was a farmers market. I cut alot of cardboard and broke down boxes for hours which was very tedious and annoying because id rather be connecting with the people at the farmers market. We get there at 8:30 AM as usual. we restocked the bags with canned beans, canned protein, rice, canned veggies and rice which is very heavy for me because i am a small girl. When we were done, which took up our entire day to do that it felt really good knowing how many people we were able to feed and how so many people we’re going to have food on the table with their families per usual. What was absolutely disgusting is that on wednesday we had to throw away a 1000 boxes of leaking rotten moldy cucumbers and the smell was terrifying which happened earlier in the week but not as much during the farmers market because most of the stuff were packed ready to go in cans or jars. On saturday we also swept the floors and took the trash out where it smelled horrifying because of the mold. Wednesday came and it was the day before thanksgiving so we cleaned out the fruits and food that wouldnt last 3 days in the fridge because they were going to be closed.This was a good thing to do to make sure people are going to be eating normal not moldy food. We also broke down boxes again to cleaned up the area and we made more bags of canned food, bagged rice, canned fruit and corn, pasta to prep for the upcoming week,
