Complete this assignment after reading “Devil’s Bait” by Leslie Jamison in your Emerging textbook. In this assignment, you will build your researching skills as you search for and sort through a variety of sources in preparation for an essay. It will be the product of your introduction to Texas State’s databases and application of the structure of classical arguments.
Your bibliography must contain FOUR sources. One of them may be Jamison’s article.
Part I: Set up the context. Begin by presenting your take on the prompt and provide a thesis statement. (100 words minimum) Prompt: How can we promote empathy? Write a paper in which you propose strategies for promoting empathy using Jamison’s experience.
Part II: Research (I suggest citing your sources as you go.).
Part III: Write the annotations. (100 words per source)
Each Source’s Annotations must have the following:
A proper MLA citation
A paragraph that illustrates a clear summary explaining the main argument or point of the article. Explain some of the topics and supporting reasons so the audience can understand the article.
Commentary about the relevance of the article. Why is this a useful source for you? What evidence does it give you to present? Defend the text and explain why you chose to include it.
