A. Please provide specific feedback about the introduction’s format, information, and style.
How does the author hook you at the beginning? What else could the writer have included that would have made you want to read on?
Does the writer provide the titles of the texts (stories’ titles italicized), the author/directors’ names, and a very brief plot summary with essential background information about each story?
What is the essay’s main idea? Copy and paste the writer’s thesis statement.
B. Please provide specific feedback about each body paragraph (quotes and analysis).
Does each topic sentence draw your attention to an aspect of the theme–and not to one text?
Does the writer support each of the subclaims (topic sentences) with 3 quoted passages in each body paragraph? Do the 3 quoted passages in each body paragraph come from all three texts?
Select, copy, and paste one quote from each paragraph that made a significant impact on your understanding of what the writer was supporting in that paragraph. What did it help you to better understand?
Check all quoted passages to see if they directly support the corresponding topic sentence.
Does the writer provide an introductory phrase to lead into each quote?
Does the writer provide a clear explanation and thorough analysis of each quoted passage? If any quoted passages require additional analysis, indicate the quote.
