Select a student achievement-related issue at your school. For this assignment, students will be responsible for designing an action plan for a grade level(s) at the practicum/internship school to respond to a student achievement-related issue/concern found in the School Needs Assessment. You may create and submit a curriculum action plan (Tier 1) or an intentional guidance action plan (Tier 2). The action plan should be presented in the format of the examples in the text – Curriculum Action Plan, Tier 1 on pages 111-113 and Intentional Action Plan, Tier 2 on pages 119-125. Curriculum action plans should include at least 6 lessons to address the issue. Intentional action plans should include at least 6 activities to address the issue. A 2 page rationale will be submitted with the action plan. The rationale paper should include the following sections using APA headings:
Data analysis – Why are you planning to take the actions listed in your plan? Provide multiple school data that support your decision. (Ex: Last semester, the sixth-grade attendance rate averaged 87% which is the lowest in the school; the sixth grade average GPA dropped from 2.7 to 2.1 last year; 68% of the sixth grade students indicated they needed help with study skills on the school-wide needs assessment)
Interventions utilized – Why did you select these interventions? What research suggests these interventions are useful? How are these interventions related to the data you presented? Explain how these interventions may help the problem.
Assessment – After you implement your intervention, how do you plan to measure the effectiveness? What types of evaluation methods will you use? What results would show that the intervention was successful?
