PART 1: Original Post (15 points)
For this week’s discussion, you will select a research topic for the Final Annotated Bibliography. The final will consist of 3 items bibliography formatted in MLA 9th edition.
Make sure you complete the lesson materials before selecting your topic.
You will be able to use future assignments to select resources for your final, so do your best to pick a workable topic now.
If you find that you need to change your topic after this week, you need to notify me of the change immediately. You cannot “surprise” me with a new topic when you submit your final.
Your original post must cover the following information.
State your topic in short form at the top as the post title and put it in bold. (2-5 words maximum).
SECTION 1: State your topic as a research question.
SECTION 2: Tell us why you selected that topic. You may opt to research the same topic that you are researching in another class this semester (not one from previous semesters) and include that in this section.
SECTION 3: Right now, what keywords do you think you will use? (List them, so it easy to read.)
Remember, you need to pick a topic that is sustainable for academic investigation. This means that you will reasonably be able to locate sufficient resources related to the topic, the topic is not easily answered by a yes/no, AND the topic is not based in personal opinion or emotions. Your topic needs to be answerable with research and facts.
Example 1 Research Question: Why does the United States have a higher rate of gun related deaths compared to other developed countries?
Example 2 Research Question: Why has the childhood diabetes rate increased so dramatically?
Your original post will be comparatively short. I am more concerned with you picking a good topic than the length of your post.
