Introduction:
Communication crisis is explored from the strategic and tactical standpoint to provide the leader an understanding of the value of both strategic and tactical intelligence.
The Assignment:
It is a pleasant spring day at lunchtime. A school resource officer is in the parking lot observing traffic when he notices an unknown adult male enter the building through an open door not generally accessed by anyone. The officer radios the front office of the situation and immediately hears gunfire coming from the school. Children are heard screaming and seen running from the school, some with blood soaked clothing. Through the windows, you observe the unknown male walking further down the hallways of the school toward the cafeteria shooting at anyone within sight.
Question:
As the school resource officer (SRO), what steps of notifying others and steps do you take? Other than the obvious such as enter the building and eliminate the threat, think of all of additional resources and steps you would take.
