Read Chapter 8 and at the end of the chapter review the discussion case, Political Action by the US Steel Industry, and answer the following questions:
What reasons were provided for why foreign-made steel prices were so much lower than U.S. steel?
What political strategies, as shown in Figure 8.2 in chapter 8 on page 165, did the US steel industry use to gain tariff protections?
Should Chinese and other country’s steel producers be permitted to engage as a political participant in the US political environment to protect their economic interests? Explain your answer.

 Did you agree or disagree with their overall analysis and why? I am not looking for a
critique of their grammar or sentence structure, more of an analysis of their
position/answer/argument.
 If applicable, your thoughts on any ideas they shared that you could apply to your career in
potentially new ways.
As it relates to the word counts for both your original post and peer review if you are a little over or
