Option #1: Assess the potential of the “new green revolution” in improving the health and food/water security of the world’s poorest people, as well as the tradeoffs between the development of food/water resources and environmental stewardship.
Option #2: Assess the impact of the first green revolution in keeping up with the constantly increasing world population’s nutritional needs, as well as the potential pitfalls going forward.
Option #3: The world geopolitical system is massively reorganizing itself before our eyes. Instead of the U.S.-led “rules-based” international order, a new “law-based” international order, built around civilizational states, is emerging. This world geopolitical transformation sees one side, which is led by China, Russia, and India, under the umbrella BRICS, which just expanded with six key geopolitical countries, with at least 40 additional countries wanting to join. The other side, of course, features the U.S., Canada, Western Europe, Japan, and Australia. In short, the world is reorganizing itself into an international system that features the U.S., Western Europe, Japan, Australia on the one side, and almost literally every other country in the world on the other side. In your opinion, will “new green revolution” programs, as well as other environmentally-based programs, help the U.S. expand into places such as Central and South America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East? Or, rather, does the U.S. need to reimagine how it engages with the rest of the world? What is your take on this? Explain…
