Select one of your state’s standards to create an objective and outcome as if you were going to prepare a lesson plan. A description of what you learn from the multimedia presentation regarding outcomes and standards The standard you selected and the objective and outcome you create that align with this standard A rationale for why you chose the objective and outcome to align with this standard A brief overview of the lesson and activity that would meet the learning objective and outcome A description of an accommodation that can be incorporated into the objective, outcome, or activity for second-language students, gifted students, or students with special needs Part 2 In preparation for observation, preview your host teacher’s lesson plan. During your Field Experience hours, observe the host teacher implementing this lesson in the classroom setting. Interview the teacher with respect to lesson plan development. Discuss the following with your host teacher: How do you best design a developmentally appropriate lesson? How do you determine which standards are selected for each lesson? How do you ensure the objective and outcomes are aligned with the standards? How does this lesson fit into long-term planning goals? How do you differentiate lessons to support all learners?
