Over the course of this term, you have learned about some key elements to creating an environment where your staff feels supported, appreciated, and informed. There has been much research lately on the direct impact quality onboarding new staff has on employee retention. In a time when the field is in great need of more teachers, creating a process for the effective onboarding of new staff is critical.
Section 1: Provide the details of the remaining 6 Checklist items. As a reminder, this is what is covered in the details:
1. an explanation of the onboarding checklist item for a more detailed explanation.
2. the purpose for including that item in onboarding, specifically addressing why that item is so important for the work teachers do.
Section 2: Provide three ideas administrators could consider to help them overcome these challenges (one page). Using your textbook or outside sources, list 3 barriers administrators might experience implementing a quality onboarding plan and how they might overcome that.
