INTRODUCTION DISCUSSION BOARD:
This discussion should help you get started on the right foot in this class! We will be focusing on a few different things in this discussion:
1. Making sure everyone gets enrolled correctly in the course.
2. Getting to know each other, so we can begin developing the relationships that will support our success this semester!
3. Learn more about the Canvas system and become familiar with the ways we will be using Canvas this semester.
OK, so here we go:
These are the requirements for this Introduction Discussion Board:
1.Enter the Introduction Discussion Board ASAP and say
Hello by Wednesday 10/18. (If I don’t hear from you I will have to drop you. This is the way I will be taking the initial attendance information, and keeping up with the adds and drops!!!
2.Go to the Canvas Tutorials and complete a minimum of
two of them. (IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST ON-LINE CLASS,
YOU MUST COMPLETE THE INTRODUCTION TO
CANVAS TUTORIAL AND ONE OTHER. If you are an
experienced on-line student, you should take two tutorials
that are more appropriate to your advanced skill level.
4.Go back to the Introduction Discussion Board and:
a) Introduce yourself, we want to get to know each
other, so have fun with this part! Tell us about
yourself. (Is this your first online class, what is
your major, are you married &/or have children,
what are your interests, etc.) It would be wonderful if you attach a picture of yourself. (But this is not required.)
b) Identify, by name, and discuss the two Canvas
tutorials that you completed and share what you
learned from them.
c) Share with us where your favorite place in San
Diego is.
d) Answer all of the following “would you rather”
questions:
A. Would you rather have a dog or a cat for a
pet?
B. Would you rather live without a TV or live
without a phone?
C. Would you rather see a fireworks display or
go to a concert?
D. Would you rather be able to fly or be
invisible?
E. Would you rather be the smartest person in
the world or be the best athlete in the
world?
F. Would you rather live without music or
without movies?
G. Would you rather play in the snow or play in
the sand?
H. Would you rather not be allowed to watch TV
for a year or not allowed to eat sweets
for a year?
I. Would you rather always be dressed up or
always be in pajamas?
J. Would you rather go to the doctor or the
dentist?
K. Would you rather study for this class or go
out with friends?
Yes, I know that’s a lot of “would you rather” questions, but it’s a fun way to get to know each other!
I’ve posted my response to this discussion board, so you can get to know me too.
Read your peers posts and respond to a minimum of two of them. It really helps if we know a little about each other.
