In this assignment, you will practice designing a dataset by asking individuals various questions. This will help you develop your skills in data collection, variable creation, and dataset organization. Your dataset should include different types of variables, including categorical and continuous variables. Although the data can be fictitious, it should be reasonable and consistent.
Design a poll: Create a poll consisting of at least five questions. Make sure to include questions that will generate different types of variables, such as continuous, categorical (nominal or ordinal), and grouping variables. Be specific about the questions and ensure they are clear and concise.
Collect data: Ask at least 10 individuals (you may use fictitious data) your designed questions.
Example poll questions:
Age (continuous)
Gender (categorical)
Level of education (categorical/ordinal)
Satisfaction with local public transportation (categorical/ordinal)
Number of times you use public transportation per week (continuous)
Create a new dataset: Input your collected data into a new dataset (SPSS or Jamovi). Make sure to define the variables correctly (e.g., variable types, value labels, and measurement levels) and enter the data accurately.
Save your dataset: Save your dataset, which will be submitted along with your assignment.
Write a brief report that includes the following sections:
Introduction: Introduce your topic and the purpose of the assignment.
