HUM2020 Literary Artist Cultural Report (Due November 6th before 5 PM):
Leonardo da Vinci’s letter to the Duke of Milan is an excellent historical example of a famous visual artist and inventor selling his skill set to a potential employer. The text of Leonardo’s letter is such an interesting mix of cover letter and resume that it is easy to find articles about it on jobhunting and business websites. This Literary Artist Cultural Report assignment is inspired by Leonardo’s letter.

Using this research, you will create a resume/CV for your writer. Upload either a Microsoft Word document or a PDF. Your submission document should include the sections outlined below:
Literary Artist Resume/CV and Bibliography 4-6 Pages 80 points possible
Section of Resume/CV:
Things to Consider:
Contact Information for your writer
What methods existed to contact people during the historical period when your artist lived?
Education
Did they earn a journalism or English degree?
Employment History
Did the writer work for royalty, a newspaper, or a journal?
Five Literary Works (Minimum)
This section should include at least five famous books, short stories, poems, etc. written by your author.
Include name and publication date of each literary work.
Each literary work should be followed by several paragraphs explaining how that specific work fits the historical movement (your cultural report topic). This is one of the most important aspects of this assignment. Failing to include this information for each of your five literary works will significantly impact your grade.
Honors
What special accomplishments or awards is your writer remembered for?
At Least Two Professional References
List the names, contact information, and relationship to your writer for each of the professional references.
Bibliography
Your bibliography for each resume submission must include at least five authoritative sources. Please review the Finding Acceptable Sources for This Assignment page in the Cultural Report course module in Canvas for specific directions as to what qualifies as an authoritative source.
All entries in your bibliography should be formatted using the APA citation format.
General Tips:
The intent of this project is twofold – to have you take a deeper dive into a particular literary movement as well as to give you an opportunity to be creative! This being said, you can absolutely incorporate humorous aspects into your submission where appropriate.
Your resume/cv should be simple and clean in its design. It should look like a resume. There are several types of resumes: chronological, reverse chronological, functional, and combination (see the video below).
Each component of this assignment will include points for English grammar and mechanics in the scoring rubric.
