For this lesson, I have already recorded the video and things needed for the video so I just need the paper. I have written about the Direct Method so that is the teaching approach you should write about. Objective:
The purpose of this assignment is for teacher candidates to plan and record a video demonstrating a brief mini-lesson using a specific approach to language learning. The chosen approach should be based on the concepts outlined in the Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language textbook and Richards and Rodgers text, such as Communicative Language Learning or Total Physical Response. The candidates will introduce their assigned method, provide an overview of its general approach, syllabus, and other relevant aspects, and then proceed to demonstrate their planned mini-lesson through a PowerPoint presentation and video. The artifacts, including the video, PowerPoint slides, and any additional materials used, along with a 2-page paper submission, will be uploaded to describe the underlying methods employed and the reasons for their selection. Candidates are free to select any content area for their lesson and may include PowerPoint slides, materials, and realia as appropriate.
