Final Paper Guidelines: Students will complete a 15-20-page research paper on a topic related to childhood or adolescent mental health disorders. The paper will provide a thesis statement or hypothesis on how to best address a particular childhood or adolescent mental health disorder. An excellent paper will describe and provide an analysis of the chosen mental health disorder considering multiple factors (the psycho, social, spiritual, cognitive, environmental, familial, etc.), choose and defend a mode of counseling for this population, provide Scriptural evidence and support for the chosen counseling method. An excellent paper will also thoroughly address the possible legal, ethical, cultural issues in counseling children and adolescents and discuss possible counselor bias when working with this population.
The paper must follow APA guidelines and meet the standards for scholarly writing. A minimum of 5 scholarly resources is required for this assignment. This paper accounts for 50% of the course grade.
