Based on this week’s readings, practice talking to young children. Practice the following:
Expanding children’s language
Extending children’s language
Controlling your own language so that you do not verbally dominate the conversations.

As you write your reflection paper, please share your experience based on this week’s course content and how can you apply the new knowledge you learned this week to enhance your next conversation with children. What were your expectations before talking to the children and did these expectations force the conversation? How will you prepare to expand and extend children’s language in future conversations, while controlling your own language and interactions so you do not dominate the conversations?
