Week Four Assignment 1
WIKI ASSIGNMENTS INSTRUCTIONS
Each week students will be required to complete a “wiki assignment”. A wiki provides an area where students can contribute and collaborate on course content. Students shall click on the “Wiki assignment” and complete the activities to review and address the content questions. Activities can include a video, podcast or other interactive learning tool.
Students will create and edit wiki pages to answer and address the questions pertaining to each wiki assignment. Wiki pages is different then discussion board in that it is more formally written (follow APA) and students are not required to comment on another students post. You can find wikis on the course menu or on the Tools page. On the wikis listing page, select the name of the wiki topic you want. Or you can simply click on the Wiki Assignment above in each weekly course modules. See Wiki rubric for grading.
Week Four Wiki Assignment: Leadership and Risk Taking
Risk taking is a part of successful leadership and can be critical to leaders effectiveness. Business Strategist Megan Tull, suggest Risk taking can be defined as: “Undertaking a task in which there is a lack of certainty or a fear of failure.”

1) Read the article by Strategist Megan Tull : How Taking Risks Evokes Leadership Success
2) Watch the TED talk video by Roselinde Torres: What it takes to be a great leader.
After reading the article and watching the video, answer the following questions in Wiki pages:
1) Give a brief overview of the video
2) What are the 3 characteristics of a thriving leader, according to Ms. Torres?
3) What did Strategist Tull say about “risk taking”
4) Identify a risk you may want to consider taking in your current job/position, to further your leadership potential. (See definition of risk above)
