Using the DED method, post your analysis of the attached article. Your post should be comprehensive: Ensure your Define covers all key concepts in the assigned reading, and that your Deploy provides a worked example from your own knowledge and experience, and does not just reiterate material in the readings. DED method means: Before you are able to use your design eye to apply the week’s topic materials to your discussion posts and reflect on what they bring to design practice, you have to understand and be able to use the readings. Therefore, a key part of your posting will be to define, extrapolate, and deploy (use) the ideas and concepts that you’ve read. I call this the DED method. Define: Identify central principles and core theories Define key concepts and describe key theories Explain: Match principles and concepts to course questions Identify similarities and differences to past course content Deploy: Identify examples of human interactions in services and systems that illustrate the concepts and theories Ponder/Describe/Interrogate how design plays a role in the human interactions that take place in and around those systems.
Please follow the DED system more carefully. Define – the summary and facts of the article, Explain – what you took away and learned… the how and the why. Deploy – how that relates to your personal experience and real-life examples.
