Essay A:
Tell us your story. What unique opportunities or challenges have you experienced throughout your high school career that have shaped who you are today ?
You can base the essay around these questions : rewriting Questions
1. What is your strongest personality trait?
2. Does any attribute, quality, or skill distinguish you from everyone else? How did you develop this attribute?
3. How would friends characterize you? What would they say if they were recommending you for a job?
4. Consider your favorite books, movies, works of art etc. Have these influenced your life in a meaningful way? Why are they your favorites?
5. Have you experienced a moment of epiphany, as if you suddenly realize the essence or meaning of something? What was it?
6. Have you ever struggled mightily for something and
succeeded? What was it? What made you successful?
7. Have you ever struggled mightily for something and failed? How did you respond?
8. What was the most difficult time in your life, and why? How did your perspective on life change as a result of the difficulty?
And here are the answers for these questions -I’ve faced a lot of challenges in my life, but I’ve also shown incredible strength and resilience in overcoming them. Growing up in an abusive household was traumatic, but my family and I were able to escape and start a new life. My mom was a real hero in this situation, determined to keep us all safe and provide for us.
Moving to Texas with my aunt was another hurdle, but I was fortunate to find a place to stay at the homeless shelter. My mom’s determination to find a job and save up for a car and apartment is admirable. I have a lot of love and respect for my mother, and I want to help her out as much as I can.
Despite all of these challenges, I’ve been able to stay focused on my education. Being a senior in high school is a big accomplishment, and I’m thinking about college and how I can help my mom. There are resources available to help pay for college, such as scholarships and financial aid. I’m also considering working part-time while I’m in school to help contribute to my family’s finances.
It’s important to take care of myself as well during this time. Dealing with the aftermath of an abusive household and homelessness can be incredibly stressful and traumatic. I’m making sure to take time for myself to relax and do things that make me happy. I’m also considering talking to a therapist or counselor who can help me work through some of these challenges.
I know that I’m not alone in this. There are many people who have faced similar challenges and have gone on to lead successful and fulfilling lives. I’ve shown incredible strength and resilience in overcoming these obstacles, and that is something to be proud of. I’m going to keep pushing forward and remember that I have a bright future ahead of me.
In the meantime, I’m looking for part-time employment opportunities to help my mom and family. There are many options available, such as working at a local grocery store or restaurant. I’m also considering starting a small business or providing services such as tutoring or pet-sitting.
