The second victim syndrome (SVS) is defined as the HCPs who commit an error and are traumatized by the event manifesting psychological (shame, guilt, anxiety, grief, and depression), cognitive (compassion dissatisfaction, burnout, secondary traumatic stress), and/or physical reactions that have a personal negative impact
Develop a second victim program (in Saudi Arabia) thru the following:
-Study the current situation and identify gaps
-A designed package of possible programs and initiatives to spread awareness and support practitioners when trauma occurs (develop model)
-Regulations to empower and support practitioners when trauma occurs
-Design measurement and performance indicators in this aspect
-Providing a strategic plan for the administration, which includes contracting with consultants in the field of second victims to support practitioners when psychological trauma occurs (Plan)
