This week you will be completing a scholarly research paper to explore your role in influencing healthcare policy.
Instructions
Nurses are important advocates for patients and health policy. For this Scholarly Paper Assignment, you will need to think about and answer the following questions: How can nurses identify healthcare problems and help formulate policy? How do nurses help to improve healthcare policy?
Introduction & Identification of Healthcare Problem (1-2 paragraphs): Provide an introduction and identification of your identified healthcare issue. Provide a discussion on how your healthcare issue aligns with current healthcare legislation and how whether or not policy reform or development is necessary.
The Role of the Nurse (2-3 paragraphs): Reflect on the role of a nurse. Provide a discussion on how the identified role as a nurse aligns with healthcare policy formation and reform.
Accountability as a Healthcare Provider (2-3 paragraphs): Provide a discussion on the accountability as a healthcare provider in addressing the identified healthcare issues.
Application of Evidence-based Practices (1-2 paragraphs): Provide a discussion of the relationship between evidence-based practices and formulating healthcare policy. Support from at least 1 scholarly source provided.
Conclusion (1 paragraph): Provide a discussion that summarizes all components of the paper. The discussion provides conclusive comments that reflect on prior components without introducing new topics.
The paper should include a minimum of 3 references, at least one should be the course textbook. The paper should be submitted in proper APA format and within 2-3-pages (excluding the title and reference page).
Your assignment will be evaluated using the attached rubric and is worth 100 points.
