Read headnotes and chapters 1 through 9 of Genesis. Carefully read the headnotes for Popol Vuh: The Mayan Council Book and browse the pdf of the chapters. I have some notes written on the pdf to highlight similarities between Genesis and Gilgamesh and the Mayan work. Watch the short videos or links I give you to more fully understand this origin story.
As always, you may refer to any of the assigned writings or my notes for your posts and replies.
As you read, please consider and discuss some of the common themes of the readings up to this point: the Descent of Inanna, “Last night, as I, the Queen was Shining Bright,” The Epic of Gilgamesh, Genesis, and The Popol Vuh.
Below are the themes I want you to be able to discuss in your posts and replies.
Each member of a group must select one theme or the archetype question to post on September 28th by noon. Other members of the assigned group must reply to one post. Replies are due by noon on October 3rd. So: one theme, one post, one reply. There are five members in each group. Go to your group to post. You need to click on People. Follow the directions next to each prompt.
