Question:
In this essay, write a persuasive essay where you explore, research, discuss, analyze these two concepts (Competitive or Cooperative/Teamwork), then decide where you land on this issue. Are you more in favor of a competitive environment, or are you more in favor of a cooperative/teamwork environment?
Once you decide which position you will take for the essay, write a persuasive essay that supports your position. Support your position with research, logic and examples to convince the reader that your position is the best approach in bringing out the best in people.
You are welcome to focus on one arena to explore, or you may analyze several arenas. If you chose more than one arena, then you will most likely have some of the essay where you compare and contrast to emphasize your position. Your choice.
Helpful Advice:
Students may want to establish some framework for these complex concepts. Establishing some of the goals that businesses, teachers, coaches, etc. want to accomplish will help frame the essay. Goals such as productivity, winning, cooperation, GPA, learning, etc. will need to be considered when deciding where on the Competitive/Cooperative spectrum you land.

Should business-owners create a work environment that fosters cooperation and teamwork? Collaboration on projects? Group brainstorms? Team of the Month? (But this assumes that the teams are in competition with each other—rather than individual competition).
