With reference to your current OR previous company (the Company) and its operations, perform the following tasks as a Business Continuity Management (BCM) practitioner.
Perform an evaluation on
Risk Assessment (RA), and
Business Impact Analysis (BIA).
Points to note:
Provide a short introduction of the Company, its operations and the activities that take place within the Company. Include the organization chart of the Company.
Determine the Business Continuity Objective (BCO) for the Company prior to performing both evaluations. Explain why the BCO is relevant to the Company.
For Item (1): You may develop a template to complete this task. The template should have a table that covers minimally these SIX items: threats/risk factors, impact, likelihood, severity, risk rating, risk treatment.
Include existing tables used for determining likelihood, severity and risk ratings.
Identify at least TWO natural and TWO man-made threats to the Company and assess their risks using the template.
For Item (2): Identify at least ONE specific department/section within the Company.
Identify at least FOUR prioritised activities based on the RA conducted in (c). For each prioritised activity, identify its relevant Maximum Tolerable Period of Disruption (MTPD) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO).
For the prioritised activities in (ii), perform an impact analysis, analyse their interdependencies, and identify the resources needed to carry out the prioritised activities.
Include existing tables used for determining the severity rating.
The deliverables have to conform to the ISO 22301: 2019 requirements.
Cite the references used for Items 1 and 2.
