Provide an example from your life when one of the barriers to effective intercultural communication has affected your interpersonal communication.
Your example may come from several cultural differences that you might have with others including: gender, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, age and social class. In other words, I can have communication problems with people beyond just, “I’m American and he’s Chinese.” It could be that I used the barrier of stereotyping at one time in my life when it came to a person of a different age such as I’m 24 and she was 52.
