Please remember, the point of the response paper assignment is to make it clear that you read/listened to
whatever the assigned material was for the week in question. Focus on summarizing and engaging the
material, not the lecture. The purpose of lecture is to explain the topic in detail. Do not summarize my
explanations in these papers, respond to the assigned material.
Remember, this is a RESPONSE paper, not a REFLECTION paper. I am not asking you to write about the week’s
topic in general. Your goal is to RESPOND to the assigned material in such a way that I am convinced you read
the material you were assigned. DO NOT repeat my lectures back to me, DO NOT summarize a Wikipedia
article (or any other source than those you’ve been assigned), but RESPOND TO THE ASSIGNED MATERIAL.
