Consider your current (baseline) eating pattern as the “starting line” for the Personal Nutrition Portfolio (PNP). The goal of this assignment is to complete a baseline assessment of your current eating pattern so that you can compare your recent eating habits against the eating pattern you will choose to follow throughout the semester. In addition, you will complete two activities of your choice from the options provided.
Instructions and Checklist:
To get started with building a personal nutrition portfolio, you will complete and submit the following information for this assignment:
Step 1:
Collect data for your current (baseline) eating pattern for two (2) weekdays and one (1) weekend day of data. Once the three days of data are collected, you will enter this in NutritionCalcPlus.
Step 2:
Select NEW eating pattern guidelines for the semester’s exploration.
Steps 3a-d:
a.) compare your current intake to each of the recommendations listed. Note whether you met the recommendation for that particular food or nutrient
b.) select three (3) food recommendations of interest from your selected eating pattern to work on improving this semester and write them down
c.) use data from the NutritionCalcPlus Reports to determine your needs for specific nutrients of concern.
d.) reflect on your current (baseline) eating pattern.
Step 4:
Complete 2 additional activities.
