Note take the week’s assigned reading in a Facts/Reflection T’Chart Format:
Students are required to write fact/reflection notes each week (Due on Wednesdays). These are scored on a 1-4 grading system. It is important that you find a method from the below examples that works for you. Fact/Reflection notes will receive 1-4 points based on an evident understanding of key concepts presented throughout the chapter section assigned in a given week. Personal reflection, where evidence of understanding is based upon, can be completed through drawing or words to assist in remembering factual information.
The below examples, from past students, are acceptable note-taking styles for the Facts/Reflections assignments. One is handwritten, and the other two are formatted on the computer; all are organized into facts and reflections. You need to either choose one of these templates/examples to formulate your own notes, or you may submit a different format to me for approval prior to the assignment’s due date. There are many other examples of note-taking styles on you-tube…google taking notes from a textbook. Finding what works for you is important. This will second as your study guide for exams, and reference for projects, as well as discussion; know that this a tool that keeps you focused while reading to help make the content applicable to your own thoughts/experiences through reflection.
