You might not think of it but you’ve done a great deal of writing over the years. To move forward in anything, it’s often helpful to look backward. Discuss the following points:
Do you consider yourself a strong writer? Why or why not?
What is your assessment of the writing instruction you’ve received, at Berkeley and at any other schools you’ve attended?
What is one writing project you feel you succeeded in, and why?
What is one writing project you feel didn’t turn out so well, and why?
What are some future goals you have for yourself as a writer?
What role, if any, does writing play in your major or future professional field?
There are no right or wrong answers to these questions. However, your work should be structured into paragraphs. It should also be 1-2 pages long, double-spaced, and written in 12 point, Times New Roman font.
