You should not need to perform research to write this essay. For instance, do not write about the process of changing a flat tire if you don’t know how to change a flat tire. Don’t ask someone who knows how to change a flat tire just so you can write about that process. Your best chance for writing a good process essay will be, as I have said, if you pick a topic with which you are familiar. The process should be something you do on a regular basis (like engaging in a favorite hobby or performing a procedure in one of your classes or on your job). Topics used by students in the past have included ones such as how to start an IV, braid hair, change oil in a vehicle, install an alarm/camera system, plan a party, tune a guitar, take blood pressure, and apply makeup. You can see from this list that your topic can be an everyday topic or a unique one.
