Do some Google-level research to compare and contrast the notions of sin, repentance and reward and punishment in the afterlife of any TWO of the FOUR mainstream religions in this course – Islam, Roman-Greek Catholic, Evangelical Protestantism and Judaism.
In a minimum of 1,500 words answer these five questions with specific examples:
What constitutes a sin in that religion?
Who or what has the authority to determine that it is a sin?
How are sins or transgressions forgiven or condemned?
What is that religion’s promised reward or punishment in the afterlife if serious sins are not expiated?
At this point in your life what are your conclusions about moral transgressions, their forgiveness and the afterlife?
