Rationale for the Assignment: “The IEP has content that is required by law and mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA, 2004) legislation, so it is a legal document containing an agreement between the school district and parents about their child’s education plan. The transition plan within the IEP includes documentation that ensures the transition activities and services our present and are being completed as determined during the annual review and via progress reporting. The required contents are listed in the IEP. Along with the content or suggestions for how the student can participate in the development of the IEP” (Rae, 2020, p.125).
