A patient’s understanding of the risks and complications of aesthetic medicine is vital. It is equally important for practitioners to properly deliver comprehensive education in regard to the possibilities of those events happening prior to any aesthetic procedure taking place. At times, pre-treatment information on risks and complications is not sufficient enough for patient to fully understand and deliberate on. Thus, this capstone project focuses to deliver comprehensive education of such issues via informed consent and educational pamphlet with short questioners post procedure, in order to measure whether the rate of utilization of aesthetic procedures will decrease overall. The goal of the project will focus on full disclosure of potentially life changing risks and complications with aesthetic injectables and then further record client’s readiness toward selected procedure.
Patients will be empowered by utilization of shared decision making process, forming relashionship trusting environment, while also offering support in autonomy towards their decision. Since in today’s society facial appearence is one of the important factors of self-perfection and attractiveness, is it absolutely crucial to expand patient’s knowledge of aesthetic complication and risk as a part of preventative strategy.
Data collection will not include any identifiable information, places the subjects at risk or poses damage to participant’s reputation, financial standing and employability.
