You have been hired as a CEO for a family business that has recently been experiencing some internal strife due to family squabbles relating to the direction of future growth for the company. Due to the recent death of the founder, the business ownership was inherited in four equal shares to two sons and one daughter who are currently working full-time in the business, and one other daughter who has an equal share but is not actively involved in the operation of the business.
The daughter who is not involved wants to sell the business, but the other three want to continue developing and growing the business. However, one of the sons who has a full-time position is not pulling his weight and often takes long leaves of absence. He seems to be only concerned with earning a paycheck but he has no interest or active involvement in managing the business.
You have been asked to make a presentation to the four siblings with suggestions as to how the company should organize and deal with the issues at hand. Use PowerPoint, Prezi.com, YouTube, or any other presentation software to present an action plan to the group.
