The purpose of this assignment is to get you started on your research, as well as learning how to format references and in text citations in APA format.

Browse around to find what you need for general format, reference format, and in text citation format. YOU WILL NEED TO READ AND STUDY THIS SITE TO CREATE A GOOD APA PAPER!!!
See the site on the Week 1 page entitled “Basic Guide for Writing a Research Paper.” Read through it carefully so you will understand the steps and requirements for completing the research paper. Browse the site to find a wealth of information, including sample pages for the title page and Reference page in the Formatting Guidelines page of the site.
See the site on the Week 1 page entitled “5 Ways to Write Better Arguments.” Read and study so you will be able to find best sources, construct a good outline, and write your best paper.

In week one are all the site links you will need to review for your successful assignments. Included are links for a general writing review, the APA guidelines, and citation machine. All of the links you need will be available to you in all the weeks’ pages for your convenience.
Assignment 1—Choose a topic for an argument paper–your choice. There is a link for the library resources on this page and in the other weeks. This will be the topic you use throughout the course, but you do have the option of changing it before you submit the final paper in Week 3. See the Template for this assignment in Week 1: Topic, purpose, title, thesis, references, in text citations. Copy it in Word, delete the fill-ins that are already there, fill it in with the information for your own topic, then save as a document to attach. THIS WEEK THE ASSIGNMENT IS JUST THE TEMPLATE.
