Two parts:
Part I: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards promulgation process is quite elaborate and provides a great deal of deliberation between OSHA and various stakeholder groups. Describe ways this might be helpful with respect to ensuring the final rule coming out of the process is the best it can be, and/or describe ways this deliberative process can have a negative impact.
Part II- Respond to classmate: Hello class, my name is Sterling Schlapak and I am a First-Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. I am currently stationed in Millington, Tennessee and looking to finish a degree in Occupational Health and Safety. I have four young sons, and my goals are simple, just to raise decent young men.
I believe that OSHA always does their best to come out with the proper rules to keep people safe. This is done by having multiple sets of eyes and opinions on an issue and coming up with every possible scenario. OSHA sometimes seems like a “catch all”, which is not necessarily a bad thing. That said, some rules that can be very intrusive and impact production. In my opinion, impacting production is a minor issue when it comes to safety.
