Think of your favorite story, whether book or movie. In a post of 300-500 words, answer the following prompts:
1) Use the Hero’s Journey Handout to briefly identify how the main character conforms to or strays from the Monomyth. Of course, the more fantastical tales, like The Lord of the Rings, most clearly follow the cycle, but even the little blue tang in Finding Dori lives out her own Hero’s Journey.
2) Reflect on the cultural and psychological functions of your chosen story.
3) Finally, reflect on why you think this universal pattern continues to reappear throughout our culture and others.
