The goal of the final project is to identify an area within psychology and law that you believe needs further exploration/changed/improved to have a meaningful impact on society and the justice system. The final project should serve as an op-ed of sorts, either arguing for why a particular issue should be further explored or it should provide practical interventions that can be implemented in society.

The overall format is not strict and you can be as creative as you want! You can write a research proposal, create an infographic, a presentation, a brochure, so long as it follows APA citation style and proper spelling/grammar.

Ultimately, whatever format you decide should either be used to launch a new area of research or could be general information that is shared with the general public, law enforcement agencies, judicial system, etc., like a public service announcement.

Here are some general guidelines:
Research proposal/op-ed format: must be 3-5 pages, in APA format, must clearly identify the topic, provide a summary of the issue, state recommendations or topic of research proposal, and include references
Presentation/brochure/infographic: must be 2-3 pages, must clearly identify the topic, provide a summary of the issue, and list recommendations or interventions, must submit APA format references
TikTok other video format: must be 2-3 minutes, must clearly identify the topic, provide a summary of the issue, and list recommendations or interventions, must submit APA format references

Assignment will be graded as follows:
4 points: Clearly falls within the scope of psychology and law
5 points: Clearly states the topic being covered, addressing the current issue or need for further research
5 points: Provides a succinct summary of the issue, historical relevancy, and/or what is known of the issue
5 points: Provide a brief summary of current practices or policies
5 points: Provides clear recommendations or interventions to eliminate or alleviate the issue, or the goal of the proposed research project
3 points: All sources are provided in APA format
3 points: Uses proper grammar and punctuation
