Students are responsible for completing (2) essays that closely examine a current sport-related event/ news story. Students should pick an event that they believe reveals something significant and insightful about the relationship between race, gender, and sport. EVENTS MUST OCCUR DURING THIS SEMESTER. Students should integrate course concepts (see course learning outcomes) and reading to strengthen their analysis of the event. Please make sure to include a description of the event in addition to your analysis. Papers should demonstrate an understanding of sports history and have a clear argument. The essays should be 2-3 pages or 2-3 minutes (video or audio). Please cite your work in MLA format.
