CREATE A COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT
PLAN OVERVIEW
1. Assignment Background and Description
To complete this assignment successfully, you will need to create a communications management plan, along with
sample artifacts, for the various stakeholders you identified in assignment #1.
Where available, you must use the organizational process assets at your disposal.
Completing this assignment successfully will require an understanding of the first two processes in Communications
Management, 10.1 Plan Communications Management, and 10.2 Manage Communications
Your group will need to review the inputs, along with the tools and techniques, for the two processes listed above.
2. High-Level Requirements
Communications Management Plan: The plan must include all the elements in section 10.1.3.1 of the PMBOK. You
must use the communication management plan template from the Book of Forms (BoF) as a starting point. You may
modify the template to meet the needs defined on page 377 in the PMBOK.
Communication Artifacts: Include samples of the artifacts that will be distributed to various stakeholders.
Project Documents: Include any supporting documentation used to create the communications management plan and
support the communications management. Refer to the inputs to the two processes for guidance on what should be
included..
Group Activity Log: Your group needs to report on the activities required to produce your assignment. Your activity
log needs to be created in a MS Project file. Use the assignment rubric to identify the summary level tasks for the
project, and then add the lower level tasks as you work through creating the assignment. There should be clear
evidence you are using the tools and techniques for the processes. Provide the details of each students involvement in
each of the activities.
Citation of Sources: Identify all sources that you used in the completion of this assignment. See Moodle for how to
cite your sources.
3. Deliverables
A single MS Word document containing a “Title Page”, a “Table of Contents” generated by MS Word, a
“Communications Management Plan”, communications artifacts, and any supporting documentation. See Moodle for
templates of each document.
You must also include a MS Project file with your group activity log details. Your group activity log can be submitted in
other formats, but marks will be deducted if it isn’t in MS Project
